Chariklo Research Group

Welcome everyone,

I think you might love Chariklo’s archetype as much as me and that is why you are here!?

Please read the Q&A’s below to assess whether this study is right for you!

Q&A’s

Why is this time period of interest?

Chariklo’s discovery chart (also known as a Natal/Birth Chart) comprises a 6-pointed star where the points of the star are at 5 degrees (see picture). During this period of time, roughtly 1.5-2 years, these points will be activated by planets and the Moon. Melanie Rheinhart is calling this a moment when the outer planets 'ring the gongs' of her discovery chart.” Let me do my best to explain in words.

Many of the outer planets are changing sign ~ Neptune, Saturn, Uranus + Pluto. As these planets begin to move forward in their new signs, they are tracked by astrologers using degrees (each sign consists of 30 degrees). These planets will soon approach 5 degrees, and in our research, this is a significant number. The points of the six-pointed star in Chariklo’s discovery chart are all at 5 degrees; so these planets will conjoin with the points of the six pointed star. Sometimes it is one planet, sometimes it’s more than one. This aspect is known as a conjunction.

The conjunction aspect is a “point zero” or likened to the seeding of a new cycle. It’s when something new is about to begin. In this case, because of the nature of a six pointed star, the conjunction will also be activating other points in Chariklo’s natal chart in the form of sextiles (60 degrees) and oppositions (180 degrees).

In essence, this means that a significant amount of activation is running through Chariklo’s discovery chart. We haven’t seen anything like this before since she was discovered.

Why is this significant?

Well, that’s what we want to find out. We can hypothesize that the 'ringing of the gongs’ could generate Chariklo themes more clearly. I’m asking myself: Could we start to see Chariklo’s themes translate more directly personally and collectively? Could her popularity grow? Will she be more prominent in our awareness? Will Chariklo’s themes effortlessly enter the consciousness in earnest and have long-lasting effects?

What if I’m not an astrologer and I don’t completely understand the language or logistics of the planets?

Don’t worry. Its important that Chariklo’s myth and themes resonate with you and that you are excited to observe and share your experiences.

Why are we only doing this time frame when there are other transits on either side of these dates?

To have a clean start and end date for the project. I have chosen the dates based on when there is more frequent activity.

Do you have a list of the conjunction dates?

Yes, these will be provided to you when you sign up.

What is your intention behind this research?

I would like to collect the events of your lives and what you witness during these conjunctions. In total, there will be 8 conjunctions in the time period of the study but you are encouraged to see it as a whole.

I’m hoping that our collective experiences will enable us to further understand how Chariklo acts through our lives a little bit more. I hope that we will provide astrologers and Chariklo enthusiasts with even further information. We can read up as much as we can about her, but to comprehend Chariklo’s subtle energy is through a felt, lived experience.

Where will I write my story?

You can keep a journal or diary and then copy the entry into the area on my website so everyone’s story is in one central hub. You may also write straight into the form provided. There will be a Google doc form on the dedicated page where you can type up your entry. The form allows for a max of 750 words. Please familiarize yourself with Google docs, the format is quite intuitive. On my website, you will see there is a header title “Chariklo Research Group” which will be password protected. There will be one password for the entire period, shared with you upon sign-up.

Is there a time frame for the written stories?

You might like to upload your story along the way or upload it at the end of our research period

What is my time commitment?

There are 8 major conjunctions during this time frame. These exact conjunctions might be significant or not. You do not need to share a story for all 8 transits, but they can act as markers points through the year. You can write journal style or prose. You can keep a journal and transfer the story to the Google Doc. You may end up looking for the Chariklo themes in your life and thats ok. You will be asked to jot down the transit closest to your story to create some cohesion.

What are some of the Chariklo themes?

Some of the themes Chariklo represents are below. Observe where these themes might be showing up around the transit. Please interpret as you see fit:

  • Being a witness to life transitions (your own or others)

  • ‘Holding Space’

  • Invisible work

  • Midwifing (literally and theoretically)

  • Yin Energy

  • Rest

  • Time away from humans

  • Illness creating a journey of self-discovery

  • A sense of someone witnessing you and holding space for you

  • A sense of softening or heart opening

  • Deeper self-acceptance

How many words should I write?

1000 words or fewer

Can I write about what I see in the collective (worldwide themes), if I don’t have personal stories to share?

YES. You might like to collect news articles with Chariklo themes during the time period for example.

How many days around the exact transit should I consider valuable?

The exact conjunction point is 5 degrees, however astrologers value the time leading up to an exact point and the time leading away from the exact point. They call this an ‘orb’’. When a planet is between 3-7 degrees in this case, the events are of interest. If this is confusing, don’t worry. Dates will be sent out for you to watch!

Will the group meet up virtually during this time?

There will be 1.5-2hr Zoom call 4 x during the research period, hosted by myself and group members, which will give us time to talk about the transits, connect and share a few stories. Sharing out loud is always optional; listening (one of Chariklo’s gifts) is equally welcome. If you’d like to share your experiences, the Zoom call will provide folks with an opportunity. Please add these calls to your time commitment consideration; they will help keep up our momentum and excitement for the project, spur us on to keep observing and writing through the year, and be pivotal for our connection as Chariklo fans.

Additionally, there will be a Signal group where we can minimally connect between calls around logistics. If it interests you to be part of the Signal group, please download the Signal app. Everyone can choose their level of interaction in this group.

Both of the above are optional

What will happen to my data/stories?

We will all sign a privacy agreement before we begin, for permission to collect your stories and to protect your privacy. We will have clear guidelines on how the data can be used within our group, and if members want to publish findings.

Is there a fee to sign up?

There is a small, sliding scale fee to sign up to cover admin + Zoom call prep + data hosting.

Who can I contact to find out more?

You can contact me, Sarah, to ask any questions! I want to make this as easy and accessible as possible to Chariklo lovers. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you and observing this auspicious time!
